Your hosts at “Efkays” are Jyotsna and Raian Irani.

Jyotsna hails from the beautiful island of Mauritius, where over half the population are of Indian stock. She has a bachelor’s degree in travel and tourism and a master’s in business administration with professional experience in luxury hotels as well as having been a flight crew member in an international airline. Her caring nature coupled with her education and vocation skills bestows her with the flair to be your convivial host.

Raian was born in Mysuru to Farrokh and Sheila Irani, who in their prime were leaders in their fields of industry and social work respectively. He is a melting pot of Persian, Irish, Dutch and Indian lineage. His Zoroastrian paternal forefathers took refuge in India to avoid religious persecution in Iran. Though a small community, the Zoroastrians have thrived in India and have contributed to the country’s growth far in excess of their minute worldwide population of about a hundred thousand. His mother was of Anglo-Indian descent, also a minority group of a similar worldwide size. After attending school in the Nilgiris and college in Mumbai, Raian earned an MBA in the US and returned to join his father in business in 1982. Now semi-retired, he has many interests including golf, photography and fishing. The host’s family includes their little daughter Farishteh, her canine friend Pesi (Dalmatian) and a host of birds and butterflies!

Raian is a semi-retired businessman from Mysuru with many interests including golf, photography and fishing and complements Jyotsna in ensuring you have a memorable stay at their home.
